This calendar page was originally created in hopes of sharing a wide range of events and activities that seem worthwhile. There was a conglomeration of select public speaking engagements, a handful of regional and national events of interests, and a go to place for friends, neighbors, and visitors alike.

In the pandemic era, we shared some bits of wisdom, humor, and provocation from folks celebrating birthdays on the day of their quotes.

For many years, Kansas City’s Urban Core Group has served as an excellent example of how to engage your community. During its earliest day, when Downtown KCMO was struggling, the Urban Core Group (kcurbancoregroup.com) shined a light on the positive incremental steps that individuals and organizations were making to help revitalize the heart of the city. The group is still growing strong and has inspired a whole new generation of committed and curious urbanites.
